1. Use of the App

Before is an iOS application that helps users stay focused on prayer by temporarily locking selected apps using Apple's Screen Time API. Access to core functionality requires an active subscription.

You may only use the app for its intended purpose. Any misuse, including attempts to bypass or manipulate its locking features, is prohibited.

2. No Account Required

You are not required to create an account to use Before. All data is stored locally on your device.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

The app is free to download, but a paid subscription is required to access key features. New users may receive a 7-day free trial. Payments are processed through Apple's App Store.

Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by going to your Apple ID Account Settings > Subscriptions.

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds, except as required by applicable law or Apple's own policies.

4. Screen Time & App Blocking

The app uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls API to block selected apps. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• You must grant the app permission to access Screen Time functionality.
• The app is designed to encourage prayer, not to force or coerce users.
• App blocking may not work with all apps or in all circumstances.
• We are not responsible for any missed notifications, messages, or other consequences of blocked apps.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to enhance the app experience:

• Superwall for paywall presentation and subscription handling.
• OpenAI API to generate AI-based prayer content.
• Apple Screen Time API for app blocking functionality.

No personally identifiable information is stored on external servers. Data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

6. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Use the app for unlawful or unintended purposes.
• Reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to circumvent its core functions.
• Exploit bugs or errors in the app.
• Share, sell, or transfer your subscription access to others.

We reserve the right to restrict access if the app is used in ways that violate these terms or compromise its functionality.

7. Age Requirement

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store and intended for users who are able to engage with its spiritual purpose. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising use by minors.

8. AI-Generated Content

Prayers in Before are generated using AI (OpenAI) and intended for inspirational and devotional use only. They are not a substitute for professional or theological advice.

AI content is generated automatically and may not always be theologically accurate or appropriate for your specific situation. You use AI-generated content at your own discretion.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding effectiveness, availability, or uninterrupted operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of Before.

10. Apple-Specific Terms

The following terms apply to your use of the app on Apple devices:

• These Terms are between you and Before, not Apple Inc.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• In the event of any failure of the app to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app.
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
